Adult Support & Training

The Scout Association's Adult Training Scheme is based around showing competence in role appropriate modules.

Adult Support

4th Heswall Sea Scout Group is a non-profit registered charity, and as such is run entirely by a dedicated team of unpaid lead volunteers, administrators, skills instructors, role models, and helpers.

Adult volunteers are at the heart of Scouting, and we hope that you will get every bit as much out of it as you put in. Our group is not only about young people, but also about the development and well being of the adults who support us.

Help inspire the doers and the give it a goers of the future. Together we help them take a deep breath, ignore the butterflies and go for it.’

Active Family Group

At 4th Heswall we are more than a Scout Group, we are the Active Group. We actively encourage family events, helping one another to be active and stay active, supporting our young members by helping them achieve challenges and experiences above and beyond their own expectations, to develop both physical and mental agility.

4th Heswall has a sturdy support network of adult members who have stayed with our group beyond the years of their children’s time with us.  This is testament to the friendly and supportive atmosphere we create and deliver, and ensures our mission and development strategy is delivered to young people for years to come.

Being close  to nature  is  a vital  part  of  a child’s  development  and  wellbeing,  outdoor activities and events are at the very heart of Scouting, a proven pursuit to boost wellbeing  and resilience.

Safe Adventurous Activities

Adventurous activities are an integral part of Scouting, and what makes it so exciting for the young people involved.

All our Adventurous Activity Instructors have Scouts UK Adventurous Activity permits in their relevant skill set, which means they have been assessed by a scout appointed assessor and/or have recognised and appropriate National Governing Body qualifications in their adventurous activity. Adventurous permits are reassessed and reviewed every five years.

If you have an interest in adventure sports and activities, or have recognised qualifications in your discipline, click the button below to apply for your scout permit assessment.
