However, we understand social media is not for everyone and we respect our member’s rights to online privacy, particularly when it comes to social media. The 4th Heswall website and social media accounts are managed by the Group’s digital communications team. Any views expressed are not necessarily the views of 4th Heswall (St. Peter’s) Sea Scout Group or any Scout associated organisation. We do not use any automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds) to post content.

Our social media channels are not intended as ways to contact any members directly. All of the Group’s online activity conforms to Scouting Policy Organisation Rules (POR), with additional information available regarding the Scout UK policy here.
There are many ways we interact with our members online. Online conference calls with young members can inspire and enthuse our young people in so many ways, unfortunately such activities do present risk in terms of safeguarding.

Our website has a private member’s area for parents, volunteers and leaders to view data and media that is relevant to the running of our group. We do not publicise sensitive or personal information in the member’s area, however, we feel it is best practice to share the information that is in the member’s area with our members and not publicly. Please speak to a leader in person to gain access to the Member’s Area.
