Squirrel Drey Assistant
Squirrels are our youngest section and will start as a completely new addition to the 4th Heswall cohort in 2023.
You will offer opportunities for children 4 to 6 years old to get stuck in and do something different. We get active, explore nature, and have fun with friends – all while earning new badges!

Finance Team Member
To support the growth of our group we need a team to collaboratively manage our finances and ensure we continue to prosper.
The group administration is fully digital, with online banking, cloud computing and automated expenses and invoicing. As part of the team you will become a group trustee, attend three Executive Committee meetings a year, help produce the finance report for the AGM, HMRC Gift Aid and the Charities Commission report once a year.
If you’ve got a bit of time to spare, want to build your CV, or help give young people #SkillsForLife, why not become a trustee? If you, or anyone you know would be interested in becoming a member of our finance team at 4th Heswall please do not hesitate to complete the contact form at the link below.
Sea Scout Leaders
Our group is expanding to cope with the demand, we started new Beaver and Cub sections last year, and we are hoping to start a new Sea Scout section soon.
The new section can only be developed with the assistance and support from new leaders and parents of the children on our reserve list, alongside existing experienced members of our volunteer leadership team.
You don’t need any previous experience, we provide full training and support, you just need a few hours a week, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
If you, or anyone you know would be interested in becoming an adult member with a role at 4th Heswall Sea Scouts please do not hesitate to complete the contact form at the link below.
Fun Raiser
Teamwork starts with a game, whether that’s stuck in the mud or dodgeball. It’s about learning how to work together to achieve a goal, how to get along, being flexible, encourage and support each other. We need someone who likes to play games, get involved and have fun at 4th Heswall.
Take a look at these Scout Games, if you can run one then get in touch.
Assistant Group Leader
We prepare young people with skills for life. But who supports the volunteers who make this happen? People like you.
You can inspire, motivate and plan ahead. You’ll enjoy working with adults and young people in your local area and seeing the impact of your efforts. You’ll be organised, diplomatic and know how to get the best of out people.
We’re not going to pretend this is easy. This is a big role. With big rewards.
And because you believe in the power of Scouting to help more young people you’ll know it’s all worthwhile.
Sound like you?
Great.
Fill out the form below and we will be in touch.
Facebook Fan?
Brilliant! You could be just the person we’re looking for. Social media is a great way to show people what’s going on in Scouts. But we need help and support to do it. Whether it’s writing some catchy copy or choosing a great photo, then we need your creativity.

Wellbeing Wizard
Young people love to build dens. But it’s not just about how much fun they have, or the amazing memories they make. They’re learning to work together, think for themselves and play their part. Scouts prepares young people with skills for life, builds resilience and improves wellbeing. Can you deliver a session that encompasses these values and help young people understand the importance and relevance of Scouting.
In just a handful of sessions you can use your skills to help young people find theirs at 4th Heswall. Find out more about how Scouting at 4th Heswall improves Wellbeing and Resilience.
Real Heroes
We don’t need super heroes. We just need some lovely parents to come along and help our young people have fun and learn skills for life. You’ll be paid in smiles and thank yous!
Give it a go, take the Four Week Challenge, you’ll love it.
Adventure Ace
All adventurous activities carry a degree of risk, but that risk is minimised through proper supervision. Many Scouting adventures must thus be led by trained permit holders. If you are skilled in archery, caving, climbing, hill walking, power boating, shooting, snow-sports, water activities or other adventurous activities you will be well-aware of the excitement involved. If you would like to pass this excitement on to young people, boost their confidence and change their lives with a handful of sessions a year, we’d love to know.

Show & Tell
Do you have a career that will inspire, a hobby that will intrigue, or an adventure you could tell. We are looking for inspirational presenters that will encourage our young people to make the most of their time on the planet, grasp the nettle and get out there. Is that you? We’d love to chat.
Fundraiser
Are you fizzing with fundraising ideas? Are you equally at home organising a cake sale as a sponsored Digital Detox? Then we need your energy and initiative to help us.
4th Heswall now need a group fundraiser to help support our activities and improve our equipment. Raising extra funds means we can provide a wider range of exciting opportunities to our young people.
With experience of organising fundraising appeals, you won’t be afraid to get stuck in with anything from a car wash to helping a sponsored triathlon go swimmingly!
Emergency Help
One of the core skills for life learnt throughout Scouting is Emergency Aid. If you are a health professional and are able to offer an Emergency Aid session at multiple levels please get in touch.
Take a look at the Emergency Aid Staged Activity Award to see how you can help.
