Training & Learning

The Scout Association has a digital membership system. Part of that incorporates the online Training and Learning modules. The buttons below will take you directly to the specific learning module.

You will be asked to log on and, once done, you can then access the learning. Once done, all learning modules will be automatically logged against your membership account as completed.

Required Training

Safeguarding

The safeguarding training is how we protect each other and those in our care, including how we respond to situations. Needs to be completed every 3 years.

Required Training

Safety Training

The safety training is how we keep everyone safe at Scouts all the time, including how we respond to emergency situations. Needs to be completed every 3 years.

Required Training

First Aid at Scouts

The safety of our young people is a priority for us all at Scouts. This training ensures that all young people always have direct access to a leader that knows how to help them in an emergency.

All volunteers have first aid training which is renewed every 5 years.

You’ll learn about:

  • Managing a first aid incident
  • Offering emergency life support such as CPR
  • Helping in situations where a person is unconscious
  • Dealing with common scouting injuries including bleeding, sprains and head injuries
  • A basic understanding of some of the major illnesses: asthma, stroke, diabetes, and so on

How do I do it?

Face to face: with a trainer and it can be one single session or two shorter sessions

Online: a number of short online trainer led sessions and a face to face practical session

Blended: A combination of e-learning, a short online trainer led session and a face to face practical session

The link takes you to the Hampshire Scouts website where you can complete the theory side of  the course, Module 10a.

Our Group Lead Volunteer (GLV) will be able to signpost you to the next available face to face course.
