Investiture

Investiture is the first ceremony all Scouts go through, from Beavers to Leaders, to join the incredible World Scouting family.

It’s a memorable moment, where the symbolic meaning is as important as the uniform and neckers they will wear.

The ceremony is a shared experience that creates a lifelong memory.

Necker

We wear a distinctive tangerine necker which can be worn following investment into the relevant section, the necker is supplied free of charge by the group. The Beavers and Cubs wear it with a woggle, the Sea Scouts tie it using a special knot.

We will issue your child with new Core badges once invested. All badges, certificates and awards will be funded by the group.
The Staged Badges, Participation Badges and Chief Scout Award badges can be transferred from your child’s previous section Jumper.

Leg and Footwear

All sections to wear dark trousers, dark socks and dark shoes unless advised otherwise. Girls may wear a dark skirt and tights when appropriate, such as for parade, the AGM and ceremonies.

Attire for water activities is always weather dependent, wetsuit and boots or old trainers, warm change of clothes, towel and coat are all essential.  Other items such as a beanie hat, neoprene gloves, cag-top and old fleece are ideal during the ‘cooler’ months.  Cap, sunglasses, water bottle and suncream/sunblock are required for the warmer months.
