How We Ensure Safety On The Water

Our group trustees ensure we follow the Scouts UK Policy Organisation Rules, the POR.

As a Royal Navy Affiliated Sea Scout Group we are inspected by the Royal Navy.

Our boathouse is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Center with an annual RYA inspection of instruction, craft, equipment, systems, and administration.

All our volunteers have enhanced DBS and hold qualifications in First Aid, Safeguarding, Safety, Equality, and Inclusion.

All our Water Skills Team are assessed by Scouts UK to gain an Activity Permit.

Our RYA Instructors have full instructor qualifications; many are senior instructors.

Our Safety Management System is robust and routinely reviewed.
