Does Scouting continue during the school holidays?
We occasionally have special sign up events during the school holidays. The annual Sea Scout Summer Camp is held the last week in July. https://www.4thheswallseascouts.org.uk/heswall-sea-scouts-wirral/what-we-do
Why is Scouting such a cheap extra curricular activity?
All our leaders and adult team members are volunteers so this massively reduces costs, the more you can help, no matter how small, the less we encounter volunteer burnout and departure. https://www.4thheswallseascouts.org.uk/join/adult-volunteers-18
Can I help out?
Many parents help out when asked or when available, especially when we have outdoor adventures, some sections have a parent rota but we like to try without this. Give it a go, it’s free, fun, and good for you. https://www.4thheswallseascouts.org.uk/wellbeing
Can I join as an adult?
Yes, just register if you would like to help regularly. If you register as an adult this ensures the safety, safeguarding and wellbeing of all. Children of adult members also take priority on our waiting lists and benefit from automatic inclusion at camps and special sign up events. https://www.4thheswallseascouts.org.uk/members-area/helpers
What if my child has other extra curricular activities which will clash with Scouting?
We have a very large waiting list. If you feel life is already too busy and your child won’t be able to attend consistently, you should consider letting a child from the waiting list take their place.
