Adult volunteers are at the heart of Scouting, and we hope that you will get every bit as much out of it as you put in. Our group is not only about young people, but also about the development and well being of the adults who support us.

Active Family Group

At 4th Heswall we are more than a Scout Group, we are the Active Group.

We actively encourage family events, helping one another to be active and stay active, supporting our young members by helping them achieve challenges and experiences above and beyond their own expectations, to develop both physical and mental agility.

4th Heswall has a sturdy support network of adult members who have stayed with our group beyond the years of their children’s time with us. This is testament to the friendly and supportive atmosphere we create and deliver, and ensures our mission and development strategy is delivered to young people for years to come.

Being Close to Nature & Outdoor Wellbeing

Being close to nature is a vital part of a child’s development and wellbeing. Outdoor activities and events are at the very heart of Scouting—a proven pursuit to boost wellbeing and resilience.

Support at 4th Heswall

We encourage all parents to become role models, occasional helpers or section assistants so we can deliver a rich and diverse programme throughout the year across all sections.

We believe good support for our youth members starts with good support and training for our adult role models—we will help you to help us make amazing memories at 4th Heswall. Try our 4 Week Challenge to find out about becoming a role model.

Safety & Adventure

Safe Adventurous Activities

Adventurous activities are an integral part of Scouting, and what makes it so exciting for the young people involved.

All our Adventurous Activity Instructors have Scouts UK Adventurous Activity permits in their relevant skill set, which means they have been assessed by a scout appointed assessor and/or have recognised and appropriate National Governing Body qualifications in their adventurous activity. Adventurous permits are reassessed and reviewed every five years.

If you have an interest in adventure sports and activities, or have recognised qualifications in your discipline, click the button below to apply for your scout permit assessment.
