New Heswall Beaver Colony

In the 50th year of 4th Heswall our Group Scout Leader has worked tirelessly to bring to life an all new additional Beaver Colony.

Beavers are 4th Heswall’s youngest section, introducing boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years to the adventure and excitement that scouting offers. The Beaver section was first introduced to UK Scouting in the mid eighties, 4th Heswall’s original colony started 26 April 1985 and has been at capacity from almost day one.

With our waiting list bulging at the seams it was decided to develop a new colony at 4th Heswall and utilise the early years parent leadership model, this helps develop the strong foundation of any scout section, an invested leadership team that will ensure the scouting future of these young people for years to come.

Starting with a small number of children at the beginning of the year, we now have two complete colonies at 4th Heswall, the Dales and the new Beacons Beaver colonies. A massive and well deserved thank you goes to Mo our Group Scout Leader, our experienced Young Leaders, and the parent leadership team, all whom without which the entire project would have failed to happen.

A second colony now provides 4th Heswall with the ability to double our intake of young people from the Heswall area every year. It is never too early to get your child’s name registered at 4th Heswall, please click on the link below to find out more and register.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
