The innovative spirit and ability to make things happen plays a vital role in the development of our adult members and there are many diverse roles to choose from.

Award Winning
The award-winning Scout training scheme for adults means that our role models get as much from Scouting as our young people.
Scouting’s quality depends on its adult role models, and our adults depend on Scouting to teach them the skills they need.
National Leader Training
Our modular training scheme delivers the full spectrum of required skills. Adults can choose training modules that are relevant to the role that they do, ranging from leadership to running residential experiences and first aid.

Relevant Skills
Over 90% of Scout adults believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives, so we’re certainly doing something right.

A study of adult members found that more than two thirds of respondents reported a direct correlation between their volunteer experience within Scouting and gaining employment or career development.

Skills For Life
Safeguarding and Safety e-learning and training (within 30 day of joining)
Once your adult membership is complete there are some mandatory training modules that need to be completed within 30 days. The short online e-learning courses, Safeguarding and Safety modules are completed within your login portal and the completion will be recorded against your membership account.
Support and Training
Our network of committee members, leaders and section assistants offer informal support and training at every opportunity. Merseyside Scouts offer formal adult training at a county and local level to help our adults reach their full potential as a successful and confident leader in Scouting.
Financial Support
All associated costs for equipment, transport, and food will be reimbursed or funded directly by our group.
We are always open to new ideas, new activities and equipment that will ensure all our members, including adults, have as much fun, excitement and adventure as possible; this is facilitated by enthusiastic fundraising, grant applications and a carefully managed treasury. If you are an energetic fundraiser or a financial wizard please do not hesitate to contact our team.
Non-Uniformed Adults
We know that wearing the uniform can put some people off getting involved.
Please don’t let this stop you from coming forward, there are many vital roles within 4th Heswall that do not require you to wear the badge. We always appreciate any help you are able to offer, should you wish to help on a regular basis there are a few requirements you need to fulfil so we can ensure the safety of our young people.
Uniformed Adults
Many members remain as non uniformed adults for years at 4th Heswall which is great, and without occasional helpers, administrators, fundraisers, and skills instructors we simply couldn’t operate our group, but if the uniform is for you, please contact the team.
If the lure of the uniform is something for you, we will always have a place for you at 4th Heswall.’
The transition into a uniformed adult can be daunting, at 4th Heswall we like to make this as simple as possible, the group will provide you with a leader’s polo shirt. We will also provide you with our tangerine necker for meetings & activities, as well as the badges for your formal shirt & tie, unfortunately we don’t sew them on for you.
