Don Twells his Grandfather was part of the initial leadership team over 50 years ago, and was instrumental in the group gaining our RN44 Royal Navy Recognition status, Don held the roles of Sea Scout Leader and then Group Section Leader for many years. This December Harry and three other lads, two serving and two Ex-Royal Marines will make the team ‘Atlantic Dagger’ that will row the 3000 mile New Ocean Wave Transatlantic Race from Gran Canaria to Barbados in order to raise money for The Royal Marines Charity that supports veterans and their families.

Harry will be attending our group camp along with ‘Danielle’ the ocean going rowing boat, when our Beavers, Cubs, and Sea Scouts will get the opportunity to look around the vessel and ask Harry lots of interesting and imaginative questions.

So far Atlantic Dagger have:

  • 4 strong fit rowers
  • An ocean rowing boat called Danielle
  • Food, enough to give 4 men 3 meals a day for 50 days at 6000 calories a day!

Please help Harry raise much needed funds for the Royal Marines Veteran Charity in any way you can and give him a warm welcome when he comes to visit us at camp.

If you can, or know anyone who could, offer corporate sponsorship through advertising on the hull please get in touch and we will pass your details on to Harry and his team.
