Beavers in Boats

Funboat Beavers

Introducing the Beavers and Cubs to the Sea Scouts’ favourite activity…messing around on boats!

During our group camp in June, where over 50 members slept under canvas for the weekend, we all took part in many activities and adventures.

On Saturday the entire camp contingent decamped down to the marine lake in West Kirby for a few hours of sun, beach fun and sailing. Our Beavers had a fabulous time in the Wirral Sailing Centre funboats, as well as being taken for a spin by the senior Scouts and Explorers in 4th Heswall’s new fleet of speedy Fusion Sailing Dinghies.

For some of the Beavers and Cubs this was their first time on the water, and it gave them a taste of things to come as they progress through their Scouting to join our Sea Scouts in the future.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
