Scouting in our Modern World

Scouting is a powerful force for good in our modern world, volunteers spend so much time, care, resources, to help young people get ahead in life, and to experience the adventure and the magic that is found in Scouting throughout the world.

It is no surprise that today, some of the most loved, most respected members of society support and champion the Scouts, it’s an incredible way to bring adventure, friendship and positive life values to people from every walk of life.

Life is really very simple, what we put in, is what we get out…

But don’t take our word from it, this is a documentary following Bear Grylls – the public face of the Scouts in the UK, and the youngest ever Chief Scout – as he explores the stories of some of the Scouting heroes, who demonstrate exactly why Scouting is such a powerful force for good.

“It is a huge privilege to announce I have been asked to extend in my role as Chief Scout to the remarkable UK Scout Association until 2023, and I have said yes.”

“We have always been the home of Scouting and the beating heart of a global family some 50 millions strong. And the heroes of it all are you, the volunteers, who give so much to serve so many.”

Please watch this short film we made on our BEAR GRYLLS YOUTUBE CHANNEL… it is why I love Scouting.” Bear Grylls, June 2020

Be useful and be kind, if you can do those two things then wherever your passions take you, you will turn out okay and succeed.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
